Volunteer Recruitment for a Clinical Study on a Product Supporting Stroke Prevention
VIỆN HÀN LÂM Y HỌC (Academy of Medical Sciences) is recruiting volunteers to participate in a clinical study evaluating the efficacy and safety of a product designed to support the improvement of stroke-related risk factors and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health.
Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability, significantly affecting physical health, mobility, independence, and quality of life. Stroke risk is associated with several factors, including high blood pressure, abnormal blood lipid levels, impaired glucose metabolism, overweight, obesity, and other cardiovascular conditions. Identifying, monitoring, and managing these risk factors play an essential role in stroke prevention and long-term health protection.
Through clinical assessments, biochemical laboratory tests, blood pressure monitoring, and metabolic evaluations, the study aims to collect objective scientific evidence regarding the product's efficacy and safety in supporting improvements in selected modifiable risk factors associated with stroke. VIỆN HÀN LÂM Y HỌC warmly invites interested individuals to participate, contribute to scientific research, and support the development of evidence-based approaches to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health.
1. Research Areas
The study is expected to focus on evaluating the following potential benefits:
- Blood Pressure Management: Assessing changes in systolic and diastolic blood pressure, two important indicators associated with stroke risk.
- Improvement in Blood Lipid Metabolism: Monitoring changes in total cholesterol, LDL-C, HDL-C, and triglycerides to evaluate the product's potential effects on metabolic risk factors.
- Glucose Metabolism Support: Evaluating changes in fasting blood glucose and related indicators of glucose metabolism.
- Antioxidant Support: Assessing biochemical markers associated with the body's antioxidant status and systemic inflammation.
- Monitoring of Metabolic Risk Factors: Evaluating body weight, body mass index (BMI), and other relevant health characteristics.
- Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Health Support: Assessing overall changes in selected modifiable risk factors associated with stroke.
In addition to evaluating potential benefits, the study will assess product safety, tolerability, and any adverse reactions throughout the study period.
The study focuses on changes in stroke-related risk factors and does not directly evaluate the product's ability to prevent stroke events.
2. Eligibility Criteria
- Men and women aged 18–65 years.
- Adults interested in monitoring and improving their cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health.
- Individuals with one or more risk factors, such as elevated blood pressure, abnormal blood lipid levels, impaired glucose metabolism, overweight, or obesity, provided these conditions meet the study's eligibility requirements.
- Individuals with stable overall health who do not meet any of the study's exclusion criteria.
- Individuals willing and able to follow the product usage schedule and attend all required examinations, laboratory tests, and follow-up assessments.
- Individuals who voluntarily agree to participate and meet the study's inclusion criteria.
Individuals with medical conditions requiring treatment or those at high cardiovascular risk will undergo additional assessment to determine their suitability and safety before enrollment.
3. Volunteer Benefits
Participants will receive:
- Initial screening and professional health assessments according to the study protocol.
- Blood pressure measurements, body weight assessments, BMI calculations, and other relevant health evaluations.
- Biochemical laboratory tests and necessary clinical examinations as specified in the study protocol.
- Study products or comparator products according to their assigned study group.
- Professional guidance, monitoring, and follow-up assessments throughout the study.
- Protection of personal information and research data in accordance with applicable regulations.
4. Study Duration and Location
- Study Duration: Approximately 60 days of product administration, with additional follow-up activities as specified in the approved research protocol.
- Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
- Research Organization: VIỆN HÀN LÂM Y HỌC (Academy of Medical Sciences).
5. Registration
Interested individuals are invited to contact VIỆN HÀN LÂM Y HỌC for registration and preliminary eligibility screening.
Detailed information about the study product, research procedures, potential benefits, and possible risks will be provided before volunteers make an informed decision about participation.
Participation is entirely voluntary. Volunteers have the right to decline or withdraw from the study in accordance with applicable regulations. Registration does not guarantee eligibility or any specific health improvement.
Important Notice: The study product is being investigated for its potential to support improvements in selected stroke-related risk factors. This study does not establish that the product can prevent strokes. The product is not a substitute for prescribed medications or established stroke prevention measures. Participants must not discontinue or modify their existing medications without consulting their healthcare provider.
